The roles and responsibilities of a company secretary are diverse, encompassing a blend of legal, administrative, and governance duties. They serve as the linchpin in ensuring the smooth operation of the board and compliance with legal and statutory requirements. Here are the key aspects of the job description of company secretary in India: convening and providing administration for annual general meetings (AGMs): for example, producing agendas, taking minutes, conveying decisions and handling meeting correspondence.

providing legal, financial and/or strategic advice during and outside of meetings.
